Undervolt Acer 4540 - Turion m520

Hi, I'am going to undervolt my laptop with k10stat. Undervolt is different with underclock, with undervolt your computer performance will not decrease or increase, on the other word, this tool doesn't impact your performance. So what the uses? It used to decrease voltage of your processor.

If you apply this on your laptop, you can get more long battery life.

Here my laptop specification:

1. Amd Turion II X2 m520
2. Windows Xp sp 2 64bit
3. Ram 2 Gb

And this is my setting :

Remember, get your own setting with trial and error. If you set the voltage to low or high, your laptop would BSOD and restart automatically. This is normal, after restart k10stat setting will back to normal, and you can choose again until stable. Decrease the voltage one step from standard, and continue if BSOD doesn't happen. You can test your new setting with orthos program(this tool can bring your processor to work hard on top) and hardware monitor (to check how hot your processor work hard).

Actually there is software from Amd called Amd Overdrive that the function same with k10stat, but I prefer k10stat one because the UI is very simple, and very easy for me..

Instal Windows Without CD/DVD Drive or Flashdisk

Install windows 7 dengan notebook sepertinya memang tidak ada masalah, dikarenakan sudah ada perangkat DVD Rom Drive. Masalah muncul apabila kita akan install windows 7 ini di netbook yang tidak mempuyai perangkat tersebut. Nah sebenarnya sudah ada solusi untuk mengatasinya, salah satunya membuat Flashdisk kita sebagai sarana untuk install windows 7. Tetapi ada salah satu kekurangannya yaitu Flashdisk yang dibutuhkan adalah flashdisk berukuran 4 Gb, bagi yang tidak mempunyai Flashdisk sebesar itu pasti akan mengalami masalah.

Nah disini saya akan memberikan alternatif lain untuk install windows 7 tanpa DVD Rom dan Flashdisk, ada syarat yang harus dipenuhi antara lain :

1. Anda harus mempunyai file image windows 7, bisa berupa *.iso, *.nrg, *.mds, *.ccd dll . Silahkan anda download melalui internet, bisa lewat torrent atau di file hosting. Alternatif lain anda dapat meminjam komputer atau laptop teman dan buat file image windows 7 dengan bantuan ISO Recorder, silahkan lihat di posting sebelumnya tentang ISO Recorder ini.
2. Dan satu lagi jangan membuat file image dengan DVD Windows 7 yang error atau sudah di utak atik, apabila anda berhasil membuat image dengan ISO Recorder maka kemungkinan besar anda mempunyai image yang baik karena ISO Recorder akan error jika ada file DVD yang corrupt barang 1 file pun.
3. Save file image tersebut di sembarang drive tetapi jangan di drive yang akan anda instal windows 7
4. Instal Daemon Tools Lite, link downloadnya klik disini.
5. Load file imagenya, klik icon daemon tools di taskbar, klik device 0 : [Drive Letter]: No Media, akan muncul jendela baru, cari file image windows 7 dan klik open

     6. Nah sekarang instal windows 7 seperti biasa

Kelebihan menggunakan cara ini :

• DVD Rom Drive anda awet, karena proses instal biasanya memakan waktu sediki lama sehingga DVD drive akan terus bekerja
• Tidak perlu membakar file image dahulu ke dalam DVD, jadi hemat biaya

Kekurangan :

• Membutuhkan space harddisk sekitar 3gb untuk menyimpan file image windows 7

NB :

Penulis sendiri telah menginstal di komputer yang tidak mempunyai CD Rom Drive dan berhasil, serta pernah juga upgrade Windows 7 Basic di netbook ke Windows 7 Ultimate menggunakan cara ini. Selain itu penulis juga menginstal Ubuntu dengan Wubi installer yang berbentuk *.iso juga menggunakan cara ini.

[SOLVED] Dual Boot Problem : ntoskernel.exe missing

This is how we can fix this problem :

1. Make 2 OS on boot screen loader with easybcd. In my computer I use windows 7 and windows Xp, and my windows xp can't boot because ntoskernel.exe missing or corrupted.

2. Instal easybcd in windows 7(because windows xp can't boot)

3. Delete windows xp entry on add/remove entry

4. And add again windows Xp entry,

5. Now my windows Xp is worked again.

Note:

This problem happen because I change the partition name contained windows Xp OS under windows 7.
